Adopt-A-Horse Program
If wishes were horses… well, they literally are for the children and adults who ride
their way toward independence at MANE. Our equine therapy partners come in all shapes
and sizes. We have hunters and jumpers, driving, cutting, reining, and pleasure horses,
and even a retired national champion or two. You’ll also find a variety of horse breeds
at work in our program. However, no matter what the breed, all of our horses have one thing
in common – upkeep.
The annual cost for feed and upkeep on one of our horses is over $1,500 per year. With our
existing barn full and plans for another barn on the way, our expenses are considerable.
Through our Adopt-A-Horse program, your tax-deductible donation of $1500 entitles you to the
adoption of one of our horses. Your gift will help us to feed, shoe, and provide routine veterinary
care for the horse of your choice for one year. We invite you to come by our barn and meet our
equine partners and select your own special horse for sponsorship! We will provide you with an
adoption certificate and a photograph of your horse. We will also place a plaque on the horse’s
stall to recognize your gift.
Remember, everyday these special horses and ponies touch the lives of our very special
students. For more information on the Adopt-A-Horse program call Dr. Bettie Borton at (334) 213-0909.
